Complete SEO, AEO & GEO Audit: How Our Free Scanner Works
Search has split into three overlapping jobs. Traditional SEO gets you ranked in Google's classic results. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) determines whether ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity can actually pull an accurate answer from your page. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) decides whether Google's own AI Overviews trust your content enough to cite it. A page can win at one of these and be invisible on the other two — which is exactly why we built one scanner that checks all three at once instead of three separate tools.
What the Audit Actually Checks
The scanner fetches the live page and runs three separate check groups against it, each scored independently:
- SEO — meta tags, heading structure, content depth, image alt text, internal/external links, HTTPS, canonical tags, robots.txt/sitemap, security headers, schema markup, and inline CSS/JS bloat.
- AEO — question-style headings, definition lists, data tables, key-value formatting, AI-crawler access in robots.txt (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended), freshness signals, and Q&A structure.
- GEO — author schema, original data signals, links to authoritative sources, semantic HTML5 elements, multi-perspective content, keyword density, and page size.
Every check is derived directly from the page's own HTML and response headers — there's no paid third-party API in the loop, which is also why results come back almost instantly.
Reading Your Score
Each of the three categories gets its own 0-100 score and letter grade (A through F), plus an overall score averaged across all checks. Below the score gauges, the Quick Wins box surfaces the five highest-value fixes first — start there rather than working through the full checklist top to bottom, since Quick Wins are picked specifically because they're both high-impact and usually fast to fix.
How Often to Re-Scan
Re-run the audit after any meaningful content or template change, and periodically even without changes — some checks (AI-crawler robots.txt access, freshness signals, content-reference-year) can shift due to factors outside the page itself, like a hosting provider or CDN changing its default robots.txt behavior.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between this and the Website Reviewer tool?
Website Reviewer is our original, broader audit covering technical SEO, domain/WHOIS data, and a live screenshot. The Complete SEO, AEO & GEO Audit is newer and focused specifically on the three modern visibility layers — classic SEO plus AI-answer-engine and generative-engine readiness — with checks Website Reviewer doesn't run, like AI-crawler robots.txt access and structured Q&A detection.
Why did my AI-crawler check fail even though I didn't block anything in robots.txt?
Some CDN and security providers (Cloudflare included) can auto-inject their own AI-bot-blocking rules into your live robots.txt at the edge, separate from whatever file you actually uploaded. Check your CDN's bot-management or "AI Crawl Control" settings, not just your own robots.txt file, if this check fails unexpectedly.
Does a perfect score guarantee my page will rank or get cited by AI?
No — this is a structural and technical audit, not a ranking or citation guarantee. A perfect score means the page gives search engines and AI systems every structural signal they look for; whether it actually ranks or gets cited still depends on competition, topical authority, and factors outside any single page's control.
Is there a limit to how many times I can scan a page?
No signup and no rate limit — the tool is free to run as often as you need, which is useful for checking a fix immediately after making it rather than waiting.
Why is my GEO score lower than my SEO score?
GEO checks (author schema, original data signals, authoritative outbound links, semantic HTML5 elements) are newer content patterns that most sites, including well-optimized ones, haven't adopted yet. A lower GEO score usually just means there's more headroom there than in classic SEO, not that something is broken.
