Frequently Asked Questions

What is BIMI?
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a DNS-published standard that lets your verified brand logo appear next to your emails in supporting inboxes, rewarding domains with strong, enforced email authentication.
My BIMI record exists but my logo isn't showing in Gmail.
Gmail requires a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) from an authorized certificate authority in addition to a valid BIMI record and enforced DMARC policy. Without a VMC, Gmail generally won't display the logo even if everything else is correct.
Why does BIMI require DMARC enforcement?
Mailbox providers use DMARC enforcement (quarantine or reject) as proof that you're actively preventing spoofing of your domain — this is a prerequisite before they'll trust your logo enough to display it.
What format does the logo need to be?
BIMI requires SVG Tiny PS (Portable/Secure) format — a restricted, secure SVG profile, not a standard SVG export from most design tools. It must also be square and hosted at a public HTTPS URL.
Does this tool check if my logo file is valid SVG Tiny PS?
No — this tool checks that your BIMI DNS record exists and reads the URLs it declares. Validating the actual SVG file against the Tiny PS profile requires a dedicated SVG validator.
Is BIMI supported everywhere?
No — support varies by mailbox provider. Gmail, Yahoo, and several others support it, each with their own certificate requirements, while many others don't support BIMI at all yet.
