Open Graph Checker
The Open Graph Checker is a free online tool that inspects the Open Graph (OG) meta tags on any webpage and shows you how your page will appear when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media platforms. Open Graph tags control the title, description, thumbnail image and type that social platforms extract when generating a link preview.
Missing or incorrect OG tags often result in poor-looking link shares — wrong images, missing titles or truncated descriptions — which reduce click-through rates on social media posts significantly.
How to Check Open Graph Tags
- Enter the URL of any webpage
- Click Check OG Tags
- View all detected OG tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:type, etc.)
- See a preview simulation of how the link will appear when shared
Key Open Graph Tags
- og:title — the headline for the shared link (up to 95 chars)
- og:description — supporting text below the title
- og:image — thumbnail image (minimum 1200x630px recommended)
- og:url — canonical URL for the page
- og:type — website, article, video, etc.
Use the Open Graph Generator to create and add OG tags to pages that are missing them. Both tools are free with no login required.
